Ravyn Lenae has linked up with Ty Dolla $ign for “Dream Girl”, the latest glimpse of her upcoming album Bird’s Eye, due 9 August.
The fantasy of the title is ripe in Lenae’s sparkling and alluring voice, which here is accompanied by a sumptuously simple backing of acoustic guitar and popping beats. “A taste is all I need / and then we fade away” she offers, tempting us into the sparkling song. Ty steps in to provide the other half of this romance, his croon filled with the hope and excitement of someone ready to link up with his one and only “Dream Girl”. In combination, their voices swirl together and the beautiful, lustful fantasy is realised – the passion coming to a head in the song’s whispered finale.
