Marcus Brown aka Nourished By Time is approaching the release of his new album in August and has today shared the third single from it – and it’s another banger.
“BABY BABY” is a pulse-quickening dash through synths, samples and skittering drums, splashed across the audio canvas in a devilishly disarming manner. Brown matches this ordered chaos with a nimble near-rap delivery, breathlessly unloading a torrent of thoughts in seemingly no discernible order, with remarks about civil unrest placed alongside offers to “get you undressed” and the bombing of Palestine next to the numbness of consumer culture. “Turn your fucking brain off,” he sputters at one point, which sounds like solid advice – but we don’t want to stop listening to this tune.
Watch the video for “BABY BABY” – directed by Brown himself – below, or find the track on streamers.
Nourished By Time’s new album The Passionate Ones arrives on 22 August through XL (pre-order/save). You can find him on Instagram and Twitter.
