New Scott Walker album revealed

That “Holy shit!” was justified: a new Scott Walker is indeed on the way. 4AD will release the oddly-titled Bish Bosch on December 3rd. That’s all we know so far, but a post on 4AD might give some indictaion towards the album artwork.

A new Scott Walker album is news in itself, but you might well point out that this one is coming at us rather soon – a mere six years after 2006’s The Drift. Considering the usual time between each album is a decade, we’re truly getting spoilt.

Update: Less than a day after the title of the album hitting, the full details of the Bish Bosch have been revealed. The album will consist of nine tracks, which features a twenty-minute centrepiece (“SDSS1416+13B (Zercon, A Flagpole Sitter)”), the presence of a full orchestra, the sounds of chisels chiselling away, sleigh bells on “a charming little yuletide song” (“The Day The “Conducator” Died”), references to dictators, and geography that lands in places as far-reaching as Hawaii to the ancient landscapes of Sycthia. And that’s not even everything. Read this post here on the album’s website to get the lowdown on what to expect. Needless to say, it’s going to be a hell of a ride when it comes.
