As a resident, this writer has long felt a new, exciting festival should be placed in the ever-growing Southern metropolis of Atlanta. I (and thousands of Atlanta residents) am getting my wish. C3, the promoters behind festivals such as Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, alongside MCP are combining their strength to hold a new festival in the city, this September, from the 28-29th.
The festival shall take place along the Chattahoochee River, the former site of MCP’s Echo Project festival. While the two day limitation clearly suggests the festival will start out on the somewhat smaller side, it will boast multiple stages, a beer garden guided by local breweries, an arts center, and even extreme sports demonstrations. Attendees will be able to camp, a must for many true festival enthusiasts.
Look out for more information, including the lineup, within the next few weeks. With any luck, Atlanta, and music lovers in general, has a bright new musical tradition to look forward to.
