When Graham Coxon tweeted that he was heading into the studio to record with Blur, the music-listening community had a simultaneous brit-pop-gasm. But were we too excited, too soon? It looks like the answer is yes.
In a recent interview with NME (via The Guardian), Coxon clarified that it wasn’t such a big deal. “Every now and then we like to meet up and record a few things,” Coxon told NME. “Maybe turning the tape recorder on and jamming around a few ideas … I suppose it might turn into an LP in six years or something … We just do stuff when we feel like it.”
Six years is a long time away. And while he was probably exaggerating, if someone could inform Blur about a little thing called the “Mayan Calendar,” it would be much appreciated.
