On a day of little news we can at least give you a couple of tidbits to cheer you up and hopefully make your Friday a little brighter. Two British artists who took huge steps up on their last records compared to their debuts are Laura Marling and The Horrors, and they’ll both soon be back to see if they can push themselves even further and solidify themselves as artists worth following.
The confirmation for Marling’s new album came from herself. Twenty Four Bit reports that she confirmed her third album’s completion whilst hosting a guest slot on BBC 6 Music. You can hear her show over here.
Confirmation for The Horrors’ third album comes from their label, XL, who recently posted their 2011 release schedule. The info for The Horrors is not plentiful, but the fact that it’s on there and has a catalogue number would suggest that it is definitely on its way.
All of this follows on from confirmation that Los Campesinos! and Cymbals Eat Guitars have completed their new records, so it’s looking like the second half of 2011 could almost match the first half for the amount of exciting releases.
