Last year was the tenth edition of Portland’s MusicfestNW, but for its eleventh it doesn’t seem to be slowing down at all. The 2011 edition will feature big bands from the current alternative side of music like Iron & Wine, Band of Horses, The Kills and Explosions in the Sky. It will also feature legendary acts like Butthole Surfers, Sebadoh, The Olivia Tremor Control and Archers of Loaf.
Looking down the lineup at the mid-level bands yields many gems too, including The Antlers, Sharon Van Etten, Handsome Furs, The Horrors, Cass McCombs and more. And this is only the Initial lineup.
The main even will take place on September 7-11 in Portland’s Pioneer Courthouse Square, on top of that are 18 smaller shows at venues across the city. Tickets are on sale at 10am June 3rd here, with three different options of tickets depending on what you want, but the main all access wristband will cost you a reasonable $115.
