Muse to start work on sixth album this year

Everyone knows Muse are a stunning live band, and nobody moreso than the band themselves. They’ve been touring for nearly two years since the relase of their fifth album The Resistance, and their shows have only grown more bombastic.

It now seems that the band are ready to work on new material, but they are unkeen to play new songs live however, since they don’t want “dodgy” audio recording turning up on the internet, as bassist Chris Wolstenholme told Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe.

Rather, after the band finish their last handful of summer festival headlining slots at the end of August, they will head straight back into the studio. “September and October, that’s when we’re going to get into the studio to start writing the new album,” Wolstenholme claims.

Muse are a hard-working band and they’ll be keen to get back out on the road again Wolstenholme admitted: “We’re always going to be the kind of band that want to get out and play live.” For Muse fans, this could be taken as a promise that the band will be quick about recording a new album so that we can all hear it, both in recorded and live form, as soon as possible.

Muse’s last two shows before going back into the studio are their headlining slots at Reading and Leeds Festivals, where they will be performing their second album Origin of Symmetry in full. Hopefully those performances leave a mark on the trio and we get a return to that style for album number six.
