Miracles of Modern Science are a band that have been on One Thirty BPM’s radar for a couple of years now, ever since they released their debut self-titled EP, which we gave away on the short-lived One Thirty BPM Records. They’ve been quiet for a time, but it warms our hearts to tell you that they’ve moved on to bigger and better things and this fall they are releasing their first official LP Dog Year.
Below we’ve got a sampler of two fantastic MP3s from the album for you, but before that let’s have a little background. The band are a five-piece that met at Princeton University and they make music that rocks, but doesn’t feature any guitars. They incorporate drums, violin, double bass, cello and mandolin into their sound, and they all sing. They produce sweeping songs that are both grandiose and catchy simultaneously and have the power to take you on a three-minute adventure if you’re listening under the right circumstances. If you don’t believe me then just try for yourself. “Eating Me Alive” and “Tensity” are available to stream or download below, and make sure you check out Dog Year when it is released later this year.
