By now you should know we’re no strangers to Deep Teknologi, considering our interview with them and making the still-forthcoming (and still fantastic) T Williams release on Local Action our Record of the Month in February, and the ever-rising collective — fresh off their appearance making a mix for Mary Anne Hobbs deeply-influential BBC Radio 1 show — had a little surprise at the end of their weekly ustream. And this is no everyday, run-of-the-mill track.
While S.E.F. was behind the decks, T Williams was off in another room making “People’s Choice,” interrupting briefly asking for feedback on a drum loop before going back to work, emerging after around 2 hours in total with a fully-fleshed banger. While the track’s story is certainly interesting, don’t let it fool you — this doesn’t sound like a track that was put together in a few hours. Standing up comfortably with his other work, “People’s Choice” is an aggressive house tune with just the right amount of swing, and a whole lot of good stuff going on in the low end. It’s essentially listening for any fans of Deep Teknologi, house music, bass music, dancing, or anything else, really.
