Our second taste of Future Islands’ upcoming On The Water (due on October 11th via Thrill Jockey) is this reserved, subtle, and affecting tune called “Balance.” Gone is a lot of the intensity of Future Islands previous work, but the change suits them well, proving they can command attention with a more delicate song as they can with a fist-pumping anthem.
