Former live LCD Soundystem performer and all around synthesizer maniac Gavin Russom has reworked Ford & Lopatin’s newest single for Mexican Summer sub-label Software. You might know Ford & Lopatin as Games, and although they’ve changed their name, their uniquely natural-yet-electronic sound remains the same on “Emergency Room.” Russom takes that sound to extremes, creating a slow burning remix that may not build not any epic crescendo, but still manages to be a pulse pounding edit. The packaging for “Emergency Room” is equally exciting, limited to four different 300 copy runs of “x-ray picture discs” pressed on high quality vinyl.
