MP3: COOLRUNNINGS – “Road to Nowhere” (Talking Heads Cover)

It’s hard to capture the spirit of a band as monumental as the Talking Heads, but psych-wave masters COOLRUNNINGS have managed to do just that on this faithful cover of “Road to Nowhere” from 1983’s 1985’s Little Creatures. The drum line-esque pattern which guides the original is also prevalent on this version, making the two nearly indistinguishable as far as covers are concerned. Mix in some reverbed guitar and mellotron synth patterns, and what you have here is one truly amazing recreation.
