Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti’s new album Before Today has been one of my favorite albums of the year, and now that I finally got my hands on the physical copy it’s been on the Hi-Fi all week. So when I saw that Ariel Pink had another project on tap this year I was unreasonably happy.
Ariel Pink With Added Pizzazz is the full title, featuring seven members all together. And there’s a good chance you’ve already heard one of the tracks from their upcoming EP, as Before Today opener “Hot Body Rub” is a With Added Pizzazz track. Lead single “In the Heat of the Night” is a psychedelic jazz track that features Pink’s haunting vocals that effortlessly glide alongside the song’s spectacular ensemble of instruments. If you enjoyed “Hot Body Rub” you have a good idea of what With Added Pizzazz is all about: stellar instrumental arrangement to kick back with.
