This gorgeous song comes courtesy of Eau Claire, WI. youngster Adelyn Strei. The talented singer/songwriter draws immediate comparisons to Bon Iver not only because of the geographic similarities, but also because Rose specializes in delicate, heart-felt, acoustic arrangement.
“Time Stands Still” shins not because of its acoustic aesthetic, which draws inspiration from Iron and Wine and Fleet Foxes, but because Strei’s voice is deftly in tune with the lonely and desperate nature of the midwest. “Time Stands Still” makes me nostalgic for those days in the winter when you wake up and the entire city is covered in snow, and while you walk down the sidewalk there’s a strange echo and dampness to every sound. If you enjoyed the Mountain Man album earlier this year, or any of the aforementioned acts, I’d highly suggest you listen to this track, if not immediately download her EP for free. [via]
