Former Screaming Trees frontman and Queens of the Stone Age member Mark Lanegan is releasing Blues Funeral, his first solo studio record since 2004, under the name the Mark Lanegan Band as he did with his last couple of solo releases. It’s his first solo record since 2004’s Bubblegum and it was recorded by Alain Johannes, who also performs on the album together with drummer Jack Irons.
Blues Funeral features guest appearances from Josh Homme and Greg Dulli among others and it will be released by 4AD on February 6, 2012, and to coincide with the release Lanegan will be touring Europe between February 28 and April 2 (full tour dates below).
