Stylish pop purveyor Lou Hayter recently shared “My Baby Just Cares For Me”, a taste of her forthcoming debut album, due early next year. Today she follows it up with another warming dose of what’s to come with “Private Sunshine”, set to be the title track of the record. She tells us:
“Private Sunshine has a place in my heart because it’s the only track on the album I wrote, produced and performed entirely on my own so it’s like my baby. It’s also the deep emotional one so I hope it resonates with people. I named the album after it.”
On the new cut, Hayter is luring her love – her “Private Sunshine” – into a personal, intimate space where they can waste hours together in bliss. She is unafraid to be upfront in her desires, telling them “stay in my arms tonight / and I will make you warm inside / make you feel better.” The expansive and smooth synth production furthers the tactile and sultry nature of her desires, each perfect tone reaching out from the speakers in an enticing caress. While “Private Sunshine” finds Hayter opening up her heart and body to the person she cherishes, she remains fully in command in this silky sonic chrysalis; the love that swirls in the atmosphere giving her confidence and presence that is utterly irresistible.
