One of the advantages of being in an eight person band is that you can lose a member here and there and still have a strong majority of the band in tact. But, Los Campesinos! have now lost their third member in Harriet Campesinos, the violinist who holds many of the group’s songs together with her inspired strings. Harriet is returning to school in similar fashion to Aleks, the keyboardist and vocalist who left before the release of their last album. No word yet on a replacement for Harriet. If you remember, the group lost their second member when the abruptly asked Ollie to leave for undisclosed reasons.
In a statement on the Los Campesinos! blog, the group points out that they still have two shows left with their departing violinist, at Bestival and in Budapest.
Of course, this is not the Los Campesinos! news we were hoping for, as an album announcement should be around any day, with the group’s fourth album anticipated for November. More news of that as it is revealed.
