Here we go again! In the same vein as Merriweather Post Pavilion, we’ve decided to make a live album preview for Grizzly Bear’s forthcoming Veckatimest, due out on May 26th on Warp Records.
We’ve compiled all of the live recordings of all available songs that will appear on Veckatimest. Although technically only four tracks have been played live, we’ve managed to find a small few gems that we think that you’ll enjoy.

Originally known as ‘2 Hud’, Edward Droste recently revealed that it would go by the name ‘Cheerleader’ via his Twitter profile (sign up and follow him and others, it’s well worth it).

Bonus: What Is Your Deal? (Department of Eagles)
This track, titled ‘What Is Your Deal?’ is actually a Department of Eagles that they performed at their Daytrotter Session. At first we thought that it was the same as the track ‘All We Ask’ off of Veckatimest because of the line “All we ask is that you…”, but after emailing the band they confirmed that they were actually different songs.
We decided to leave it because not too many people know about it, and hey, perhaps some of the lyrics are re-used.
Daniel Rossen: This is a new song, slightly unfinished with some loose ends. I enjoy playing it and I thought it would be fun to record it in this unpolished state.

Bonus: Deep Blue Sea
Another bonus for you; this one is called ‘Deep Blue Sea’. The studio version appears on the Dark Was The Night compilation and the Daniel Rossen home recording version is on 2007’s Friend EP. Here are three incredible live versions:
