Little Simz has dropped a surprise new single called “Hello, Hi.” This latest track from the English-Nigerian rapper is the first new music following the Drop 7 EP earlier this year, and before that 2022’s critically-acclaimed No Thank You — which followed the equally adored Sometimes I Might Be Introvert.
Produced by SHYY and RIGAS, the track is brief, running just north of two minutes, but is packed with the typically atypical arrangements we’ve come to expect from her. Loosely corralled around an acoustic guitar loop and softly filtered vocal sample, the track finds time, even in its short tenure, to give her ample opportunity to look back over her career, finding confidence in her successes and casting poisonous barbs at those who doubt her abilities. If this is a glimpse of what we can look forward to from her in 2025, then bring on the new year.

Here’s hoping she doesn’t wait too long to sate our collective desire for more new music. Follow her on Facebook, X, and Instagram.
