While Z-Ro’s been representing Houston ever since his dark, atmospheric masterpiece Look What You Did to Me in ’98, he’s still yet to receive the attention he deserves outside of his city and intense hip hop circles. Nonetheless, despite some lesser studio efforts of late, the veteran hasn’t lost one ounce of his skill when he’s focused, his trademark blend of sing-song charm and heavy street storytelling never fails to entertain and enlighten.
Basically, we recommend trying him out. The latest project on Ro’s plate is a collaborative album with friend and fellow Houston player, Slim Thug. This track is both a tease for that LP and the perfect addition to your summer playlist. I mean, c’mon, look at the title.
