Tim Presley of garage rockers–and frequent Ty Segall collaborators–White Fence released a rather cryptic message today concerning the band’s upcoming record CYCLOPS REAP. Here’s a snippet:
“I have cyclops vision now. But I’m not a giant. I changed my name and body only, and stabbed my social nous in the right ear. I still read fear but there are no police this year. I can repeat the same dream. I can let birds talk to me. I’m in jail. I have love and a whistle. I lay where the lotus lay and then spring the frozen flowers on any giving day. I apologize to those put in the trees, but I was gathering the Cyclops reap.”
Whatever you might want to read into that, you’re more than welcome to. I’m just glad that we’ve got less than two months until a new White Fence record comes out. Along with this message, the band has released the first song from CYCLOPS REAP, the fuzzed-out, caffeinated rocker “Pink Gorilla.” Listen to the song below and check out a few White Fence tour dates as well. I’m sure that there will be plenty more where these came from once the record hits in April.
