Moscow producer OL (born Oleg Buyanov) dropped his latest collection of beats – entitled Save and Protect — on Miami-based imprint Loveless Records last month. Featuring four new tracks, plus remixes from such like-minded artists as Slava, Hesk, and Koloah, Save and Protect serves as a refresher course for those not familiar with his unique blend of wobbly, sun-soaked synths, 808 beats, and airy vocal samples. One of his recent singles from that release, the warbling downtempo bass experiment “Graphic,” melds skittering percussion with a soulful vocal sample to create an off-kilter examination of what futurist electro-pop might sound like a couple decades down the road. Listen to “Graphic” below.
