Still gliding from the critical success of 2012’s The Haunted Man, Natasha Khan (Bat for Lashes) has teamed up with the band TOY for a song entitled “The Bride.” Ostensibly a cover of an Iranian song (“Aroos Khanom”) by Amir Rassaei, itself taken from the compilation Zendooni: Funk, Psychedelia, and Pop from the Iranian Pre-Revolution Generation, this track features Khan on vocals with TOY providing the backing instrumentation. It’s due out July 1st via 7” label Speedy Wunderground in a limited pressing of 250 pieces. Recorded in its entirety in just 5 hours, this song is just the latest in the label’s resume of limited edition 7”’s—including releases by Archie Bronson Outfit, Steve Mason, and Emiliana Torrini.
