A while ago we told you about the upcoming Muppets tribute album, The Green Album, the soundtrack to the next Muppets movie, which will feature the likes of Andrew Bird, Weezer and My Morning Jacket. Today we can bring you the studio version of My Morning Jacket’s contribution, “Our World,” a cover of a Muppets song from Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas. Considering that My Morning Jacket’s contribution to the last indie tribute album that crossed our path turned out to be by far the best, we should enjoy this while we can.
Jim James already has a bit of a Kermit-y voice, and My Morning Jacket were even in talks at one stage to write a whole album for The Muppets, so it’s unsurprising that this little gem works perfectly.
