Mutual Benefit is the moniker of Boston Native and folk/pop wunderkind Jordan Lee. On his most recent tour in support of his last EP, The Cowboy’s Prayer, Lee found time to play and record with some of his longtime friends, including singer Julie Byrne, Jake Falby, and Virginia de la Pozas (of Cry Guy), among others. The resulting collection of songs will see the light of day as Love’s Crushing Diamond, Mutual Benefit’s upcoming record. Lee has just released “Advanced Falconry” as the lead single, and with its mournful violin, lovingly plucked banjo, and noise drenched folk tendencies, the track paints a dust-swept picture of forgotten roads and a weary populace. Lee and his like-minded companions travel this lonesome path in the hope of finding someone willing to join them. Listen to “Advanced Falconry” below.
