In a weekend full of exciting sets, one of the most keenly observed at Sasquatch will have been that of Modest Mouse. For the Washington band it was almost a hometown show and their only planned North American gig for the rest of 2011. Having recently announced that they’d been in the studio with Big Boi we’re all intrigued to see what they come up with, and someone has been kind enough to grab sounndboard recordings of two new songs from the performance called “Poison” and “Lampshades On Fire.” Neither really suggest that they’ll be heading back in the direction of Modest Mouse pre-turn of the century, but “Lampshades On Fire” in particular does come close to a Moon and Antarctica kind of sound. Make your own judgements by listening below.
