London-based producer Jon Hopkins has played with and produced some of electronic music’s biggest names, such as Brian Eno, King Creosote, and David Holmes (also oddly enough, he played extensively on Coldplay’s Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends). But when he’s not busy turning out remixes of tracks from artists like Four Tet or Nosaj Thing, he spends his time creating open-ended electronic landscapes, complete with dancefloor grooves, hiccuping beats, and enough bass to rattle your breastplate. Hopkins is set to release his latest record Immunity for Domino Records on June 4th. And he’s just recently released a new track from that album called “Open Eye Signal,” and it is full of the usual cavernous beats and rippling synths that fans have come to expect. Check out the track below.
