There’s just too much coming out this Record Store Day to keep up with. And with labels releasing select special tracks from their releases to try to tempt us to buy them it only seems that I’m going to end up both confused and broke this saturday. The Silver Alert remix of Grinderman’s “Evil” comes as part of a limited edition 12″ release of the original Grinderman song. The 12″ also features the original demo of the song and a Factory Floor remix.
This remix by The Silver Alert is an absolute gem, draftng in The National’s Matt Berninger to sing over the chopped up, slowed and sinister sounding “Evil” is a stroke of genius. Coupled with slowed down Nick Cave vocals this song is creepy and heartbreaking in one. Listen below.
