 
What do you get when you gather together Stephen O’Malley (Sunn O)))), Atsuo (Boris), Michio Kurihara (Ghost) and William Herzog into a single musical group? It appears that you get Ensemble Pearl, the latest super-group to pool their creative resources and take a stab at successfully merging more than 30 years of combined music making. Â The band’s first track, “Painting On A Corpse,” comes from their self-titled debut album out March 19th via Drag City. Â Not relying solely on monster riffs and cavernous guitars, Ensemble Pearl work instead on developing highly intricate, though no less dense, musical landscapes. Â Listen to the track below.
