Looking at that terribly ugly album art above for Brian Eno’s upcmong album Drums Between The Bells, you would be forgiven for thinking that the songs on the album are going to lack beauty. However, you’d be wrong. Thankfully. Eno is returning for his second album in less than a year on July 5th, and unlike his last one Small Craft On A Milk Sea, this one features vocals – spoken word ones to be precise. They’re kind of like space age poetry. We’ve already heard “Glitch” and now we have “Pour It Out” and “Bless This Space,” which are both quite different from each other. The former features a female voice speaking delicately over a gourgeous bed of strings, while the latter is a male voice speaking sternly over an electronic soundscape before going into a little guitar spazz-out.
