For Justin Vernon, possessing a wonderful falsetto doesn’t mean that he can use it on beautiful music of his own making, but it means he can also effectively cover songs traditionally sung in the female voice. On this occasion he’s turning his talents to a couple of classics from Bonnie Raitt combined here into one medley. For Vernon’s versions the cheesy late 80s/early 90s production and backing track are done away with and we just get Vernon’s vocals and some dazzling, tinkling piano.
