Having previously released music through the Fence Collective and as part of Jose Gonzales’ touring band, London-based artist James Mathé (aka Barbarossa) is getting ready to release the first single under his Barbarossa moniker. And while we don’t have much information concerning the eventual LP, we can get a taste of Barbarossa through this first single, the delicately spare and introspective ballad “The Load.” Memphis Industries is handling the release of the single, with the album due sometime later in 2013. He is also heading out on the road with POLIÇA for a few dates in March and with Junip in May.
