In preparation for Italians Do It Better’s After Dark 2 compilation, scheduled for release next week on October 15th, labelhead Johnny Jewel has given its 2007 predecessor a sleek remaster available to stream and download below. After Dark features music from Glass Candy, Chromatics, Mirage, Farah, and more and stretches across disco, italo, and krautrock all with a cohesive nocturnal, noirish feel.
In a thank-you note included with the remaster, Jewel goes on to hint at a number of projects his various outfits will be involved with in the near future including a film score gig for Symmetry and 27-minutes of music from Chromatics for a Chanel fashion show. He also goes on to say, “There is so much music we can’t wait for you to hear. For the diehard fans, we’re going to start leaking tracks next week.” Read the full text here.
