Jack White’s latest project, Rome, is released today, and is his second major release of the year after Wanda Jackson’s White-produced album, so the question needs to be asked: what is Jack White doing next? Because, you know White can’t sit around for long. Well, courtesy of NME, we may have an answer.
It seems that Bobcat Goldthwait, of Police Academy and Shakes The Clown fame, is working on a film version of the 1975 concept album from The Kinks called Schoolboys In Disgrace. To add credibility to the project, Kinks’ main-man Ray Davies is working as executive producer on the film and they may have found a genuine star to recreate the music in Jack White.
No details are known besides that White is in “talks,” but Goldthwait has this to say about the film: “It’s the genesis story of a super-villain set to music. It’s the story of the world’s most charming criminal and a realistic high school musical for all the kids who hate sugary, sweet, unrealistic high school musicals.” We’ll let you know when we know more.
