J Andrew is living testament that neither folk music nor street performances are dead.
He may where his influences on his sleeve (his bio reads that he “heard The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan and never looked back”) but in this case, it’s not a bad thing. The South Carolina native/New York resident creates simple but meaningful music (his EP has only one overdub) with evocative lyrics.
