Fergus & Geronimo are a Texas duo named after rival child gang leaders from the 1994 movie War Of The Buttons. If that doesn’t clue you into some of the absurdity that their quite good debut, Unlearn, offers, well maybe the citing of influences as diverse as doo-wop, Frank Zappa and Sparks will. Or as the band puts it, “it is two guys making weird music with no other agenda than being creative and surprising, and that’s what I want this band to be. That band is a great example of a group that makes no compromises for creativity.”
