Interpol leader Paul Banks releasing solo EP, album this fall

You’d think Interpol’s indefinite hiatus would free up frontman Paul Banks to record a slew of projects. However, the singer has been relatively quiet since 2009’s tepidly received Julian Plenti is… Skyscraper. Finally, the singer has shared intentions to release a follow up album this fall, preceded by an EP, Julian Plenti… Lives, coverart above.

The EP is set to feature both an original track, “Summertime is Coming”, and instrumental, as well as a odd, enticing selection of covers: J Dilla, Frank Sinatra, and Harold Faltermeyer. Look out for the release on June 12th on Matador Records, with limited vinyl and CD releases, alongside a digital release.
