Shimmering Stars are band from Vancouver, BC, who make 60s influenced dreamy jangle pop, and this Fall they’ll have the pleasure of releasing their debut album on Hardly Art; regular home to great new alternative artists. The album is called Violent Hearts (that’s the cover above) and comes out on September 13th.
Apparently the band was inspired into being after band leader Rory McClure watched some old live footage of the Everly Brothers that he’d stumbled upon. That Everly Brothers influence is definitely audible in the first track that they’re giving away from the album, “I’m Gonna Try.” Check it out out below.
