The prospects for this year’s Grammy Awards were looking surprisingly good. With nominations and performances from artists such as Radiohead, Paul McCartney, and Lil Wayne, it seemed like the yearly awards show was finally getting something right. That is, until they announced the winner for album and record of the year. Could they be any more predictable then picking Robert Plant and Krauss? Evidently not, seeing as they took top honors.
Especially a shame when one sees the stark contrast between the roaring performance from Radiohead backed by the USC marching band and Plant and Krauss’s boring performance. This only further served proof of how out of touch the Grammys are. Radiohead did however snag Alternative Album of the Year (which wasn’t televised). Daft Punk also picked up two Grammys in different Dance categories.
