Godspeed front man goes solo; hear a couple of tracks

Efrim Menuck, leader of post-rock stalwarts Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Thee Silver Mount Zion, has decided to go solo. This is somewhat more drastic than most band leaders going solo because in both of the bands we’re used to seeing Menuck in he is surrounded by an abnormally large number of musicians and making an abnormally large level of noise.

For the release he has decided to use his full name, Efrim Manuel Menuck, and the album will be called Plays “High Gospel”. Like when he’s with Mt. Zion, but unlike when he’s with Godspeed, Menuck sings on this album. The album comes out on May 24th through Godspeed’s usual label Constellation. You can see the album art for it above and just below you can see the tracklist and even hear a couple of songs.
