The National Trust is an organisation that operates in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to preserve historic monuments, coastline and countryside in order to attempt to maintain Britain’s essence. Jarvis Cocker is a supporter of the work of The National Trust and as such has recorded an album for them… of sounds.
The ambient sounds were recorded at various National Trust sites and Cocker has worked them into some kind of audio playlist or album.
Here’s what Cocker had to say about the album; “I hope this album is a ‘holiday for the ears. It’s not really meant to be listened to intently, like a piece of music, but more as something to have on in the background to aid relaxation or contemplation.”
