Washington DC duo Flasher are releasing their second album Love Is Yours this summer, and following on from lead single “Sideways” they have now shared the title track. They say:
“‘Love Is Yours’ is about the roller-coaster highs and lows of a long-term relationship—the kind where a conversation can feel like a tripwire, with subtextual clues that offer the promise of reward if correctly decoded.”
Just like “Sideways”, the new single finds Flasher fully leaning into their groovy, dance-ready stylings. It makes for a perfect vessel for this tale of tactical talking – navigating the push and pull of quotidian conversation with your long-term partner without upsetting anyone. Naturally, this leads to getting tied in mental knots and setting unsuspecting conversational traps, something the duo reflect magnificently in the head-spinningly catchy chorus; “it’s like a knock on the door / I never heard it before / you had me opening oh so naturally.” Domestic arguments can be strenuous, but Flasher also highlight the sweet side of verbal jousting with your beloved in this delightful new jam.
