Athens, GA rock band Drive-By Truckers have announced ten new shows for late January and February next year. The dates that have been announced so far take the Truckers through Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia and they’ve already announced three shows in their hometown Athens, Georgia in early January.
2009’s been a busy year for the Drive-By Truckers, despite not releasing a proper record, with tours, supporting Booker T. Jones on his instrumental album Potato Hole, singer/songwriter/guitarist Patterson Hood releasing his second solo album Murdering Oscar (and other love songs), releasing the live cd/dvd Live from Austin, TX and The Fine Print (A Collection of Oddities and Rarities 2003-2008).
They’re set to release their next full-length record in early 2010. The record, whose title hasn’t been revealed yet, will be the follow-up of their critically acclaimed 2008 record Brighter Than Creation’s Dark.
