Dirty Three return in February with first new album for seven years

Although The Dirty Three haven’t released a new album since 2005’s Cinder, they haven’t exactly been inactive. Warren Ellis has been cavorting around with fellow Australian pal Nick Cave on the soundtrack for The Road, not to mention the two Grinderman records. Mick Turner and Jim White have also occupied themselves with work outside of their main project too.

But, fans of their melancholic, brooding, instrumental post-rock will be glad to hear that they have announced the details of a new album called Toward The Low Sun. There’s not much detail on the release, but we can tell you that it is coming out February 21st and will be their first release on Drag City Records. The album will be available in CD, LP and MP3 formats.

The cover art for Toward The Low Sun is above while the track list is below.
