South African freaky dance-rappers Die Antwoord disappeared from our daily discussions as quickly as they came in and dominated them, but they do not seem satisfied to occupy a footnote is pop consciousness as they have a second album set for release in January.
In a preview with Spin, Die Antwoord revealed that their new record, Tensions, will be “freakier and more absurd” than $O$, “yet simultaneously smart and culturally relevant (they capture South Africa’s tumultuous political mood in song).” Spin has detailed descriptions of five of the album’s songs, and we will keep you posted when we get our first taste of the new record.
