Californian pop-folk-rockers Delta Spirit always seem busy releasing more singles, EPs, and giving away downloads, but on March 13th we’ll get a new full length album from the boys.
The new album is their third and will be self-titled. It is their first full-length release since 2010’s History From Below. Delta Spirit was recorded a church in Woodstock, New York that dates back to 1897 but has been converted to a recording studio. The album was produced by Chris Coady whose previous work includes music by Grizzly Bear and TV on the Radio.
Of the sound of the album, singer Matt Vasquez says “We found the sound that we’ve been looking for, that we’ve been growing into, and as soon as we hit on it, we ran with it. That’s why it’s a self-titled record, so we could connect our identity with what we think Delta Spirit is.”
Rounder Records will have the honour of releasing Delta Spirit, look for it on March 13th.
