Darkside invite you to fall under the sway of their latest single, “Hell suite, Pt. II”, a luxurious, by their standards, avant-pop experiment with layers of aqueous percussion and abundant melodic entanglements. It’s practically lush compared to some of their other songs, a weird and weirdly accessible song that demonstrates their ability to wring true pathos and emotional insight from darkly luminescent soundscapes. At times bitter and recriminatory, the track nonetheless opens its heart for all to see, damaged muscles and twisted sinews giving way to a light that peaks through the grim surroundings.
