Australian electro-pop favorites Cut Copy have been known to take their sweet time between album releases. Four years passed between Bright Like Neon Lights and In Ghost Colours. This time around; however, the layover will only be three years, as their third studio album Zonoscope is set to be released on February 8th, 2011. Spin has the exclusive story, so you can read about the album in detail there, along with a short video doc about the new album. As more information surrounds the album it appears that Cut Copy have opted for a much more spontaneous sound this time around, veering slightly from the in-your-face pop anthems of albums gone by.
Cut Copy released “Where I’m Going” as a free download earlier this year, but have apparently re-worked the single for the final version. As band member Tim Hoey tells Spin, “There’s actually a new mix of that song on the album which is more like the original vision we had for that song: more chant-y, kind of tribal, and probably less pop than the version that came out a couple of months ago.” Grab the original version below if you missed it this summer, and keep your eyes peeled for tour dates in the near future.
