“I wanted to have something where I didn’t have to take anyone’s thoughts into consideration and do whatever I wanted in my own timeline... Everybody in Daughters is talented, so it can be hard to bring in ideas without feeling self-conscious about them. This is my project, so whatever ideas I have they’re mine, and I can use them without feeling uncomfortable.”
On her latest EP, Swallow Me, Sermanni dives deeper than before, describing the transition from a relatively carefree life – one where she admits to travelling freely, creating boundlessly and enjoying the romances that came her way – to one where motherhood became the primary focus.
